Inspire Therapy

A comfortable, mask-free solution for treating Obstructive Sleep Apnea

What is Inspire Therapy?

Instead of using a machine outside of your body to force air into your airway through a hose and mask, the Inspire implant works comfortably inside your body to treat the root cause of your obstructive sleep apnea (OSA). When your tongue falls back during sleep, the Inspire implant uses gentle pulses to keep your airway open, allowing you to continue breathing regularly without disrupting your sleep.

The Inspire System Components

Inspire therapy is designed to be simple, discreet, and easy to manage. The system consists of three main parts:

The Inspire® Implant

This small device is placed under your skin near your collarbone. When turned on, it delivers gentle pulses to keep your airway open during sleep. After a few days of getting used to it, most patients don't even feel the pulses.

The Inspire™ Remote

This handheld remote allows you to easily turn your therapy on and off, as well as adjust your therapy settings.

The Inspire® App

A convenient smartphone app that helps you monitor your therapy progress and easily share your sleep data with your doctor.

Rest with Confidence

Choosing a new therapy is a big step, but you can move forward with absolute confidence. Over 99.5% of Inspire implant procedures are successfully completed without any major complications. Furthermore, Inspire therapy is covered by Medicare, Veterans Affairs (VA), and most U.S. commercial insurers. Our team will work alongside you to help obtain coverage with your insurance company.

Your Journey to Better Sleep

Here is a quick overview of what to expect as you navigate the Inspire therapy process:

Consultation appointment

First, you will meet with an Inspire-trained doctor. They will ask you questions about your OSA and your past experiences with CPAP to help guide you through the next steps.
Call 208-434-8420

Airway Exam

Your Inspire-trained doctor will refer you for a simple and routine 20-minute airway exam to confirm whether the Inspire implant will work for you.

Get the Implant

The small Inspire implant is placed near your collarbone during an approximately 90-minute outpatient procedure. Over 99% of Inspire implant procedures are successfully completed without any major complications.

Turn on Inspire Therapy

During a follow-up appointment, your doctor will officially turn on your Inspire therapy. You will also receive your Inspire remote, learn exactly how to use it, and discuss your personal step-up process plan.

Follow-up Sleep Study

The final step is completing a follow-up sleep study to verify that the therapy is meeting your "sleep better" goals. Once you and your doctor determine the absolute best settings for you, the process is complete!.
